Dear
Friends
7/2/2005:
Friends and colleagues who use our information service regularly
will know that has been a gap in communication. What has been
going on? And why don't update this blog more often? Well
the answer is first of all at the end of November my computer
crashed due to old age and overuse, and as I had not planned
an upgrade before this happened (due to not thinking about
anything except keeping up with the workload), there was a
bit of a crisis. To cut a long story short, all is now well
and I am in the throes of adjusting to a new computer, a modest
eMac which has OS10 as well as being able to access the old
9.2 programmes in classic mode. Secondly, the fact is that
so much has been going on I forgot to update the blog. New
projects have been piling up for my attention to the extent
that I simply cannot process everything that needs to be done.
So now I am on a mission to expand the team, learn to delegate
and set up systems enabling people to process more of their
information as they submit it - this way we can expand our
capacity and improve our service. Watch this space for new
developments, and thankyou for your patience.
4/6/2004: All life is Art, even hanging clothes on the line.
I am lucky to be working at home and can intertwine these
activities inbetween my work. I was having a go at Adrian
(my husband) about taking clothes off the line but leaving
the pegs stuck so that they could not be moved along. Today's
small domestic drama is making sure the outfit for Nicholas's
(14) fencing class is laundered ready for tonight - it was
all washed and ready to put up on the line but my progress
was impeded by these stuck pegs. While I was explaining this
small point to him - he had not known about this during our
21 years of marriage - I also pointed out the special way
that clothese are interleaved between flat and bulky so that
they can all fit and get the maximum air and sunshine. But
I don't suppose you needed to know that either....
3/6/2004:
I have decided to start a BLOG page as a me-space, following
the amazing Mind Body Spirit show 26-31st May 2004 which was
like a real revival, back to the old days. It has left me
still spinning - two days later I am still getting on the
wrong bus and things like that, so am taking a little while
to get orientated again and catch up with all the admin from
the leaflets which kept coming to us all through the exhibition.
Some people had workshops which came too late to include in
our printed Bulletin, so I will be adding them to the relevant
page on our website. We will also be going to press quite
soon with B58 and V45, rolling over some of the July events.
I would firstly like to thank Sharon and all her team, as
well as John, the big boss, for their kindness, efficiency
and co-operation all along, for example fixing up a special
slot for our resident spirit artist, Nick Ashron, and also
for innovations like the scuptures - which took the show to
a new level. I would next like to thank all the people who
supported our stand by sending leaflets with financial contributions
and/or helping with labelling, collating and handing out,
especially Daisy of Daisy Centres whose wonderful healing
energy calmed me down after tempers got a little frayed on
the last day and I got manhandled by the man over the fence.
I also apologise to anybody who thought William was a little
"forward" in his style of handing out leaflets,
well he is, what else can I say? My digital camera battery
conked out before I managed to get a photo of the lady who
had been guarding scuptures all along (or our stand), but
once I have updated the networking page with the next group
of shows where we will have a stand, I will come back and
post up a couple of photos which I did get...watch this space.
